Construction

The hull is constructed from 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" Douglas Fir, strip planked and edge glued with epoxy.  Each plank has hardwood dowels every 10".  Over this there is one layer of 1/8" marine plywood covered in epoxy with two layers of 1/8" clear cedar veneer laid 45deg one way then the other.  Two layers of 12 ounce fiberglass cloth with three coats of thickened epoxy covers the entire hull.

The deck was laid over the beams using two (2) layers of 1/4" marine plywood, glued and screwed.  Over this there are  two (2) layers of 1/8" clear cedar veneer laid on opposing 45deg angles.  Around the mast there is an extra layer of 1/4" marine plywood.  The entire deck is covered in two (2) layers of 12 ounce fiberglass cloth saturated and coated in epoxy.

The partners that the mast runs through are 3" thick mahogany, through bolted through the deck beams.  The mast and boom are new and supported by a large Oak mast step.

There are four (4) sets of Pintles & Gudgeons for the rudder cast in bronze.  Special bushings were custom made for them with an extra set in parts.
