Vessel Overview

Approaching OTTER you will notice the distinctive "North Sea boat" look that will turn heads.  The semi-displacement hull (36,500lbs) was designed to provide stability and efficient comfortable coastal cruising.  The hull is solid fiberglass below the water line and cored hull above the waterline.  A long full keel runs the length of the hull with a stainless steel shoe extending from the keel to the rudder providing protection to the propeller and rudder. The deck is cored with added fiberglass in high-stress areas.

The aft deck is 5 feet long providing ample space for lounging with 6'4" of headroom under the overhead boat deck.  A wide transom door provides easy access to the molded fiberglass swim platform. Transom cabinets provide storage and there is a molded cabinet to starboard containing the Glendening electric cord reel.

There are no full-length side decks as the salon stretches the full beam of the boat.  Access is either from the stern through the transom door onto the aft deck or via side gates to either side of the pilothouse and provide options when docking at low or raised docks.

Exiting the pilothouse to either port or starboard you will find high bulwarks and railings that provide secure and safe access forward to the bow.  The side decks that extend forward from the pilothouse are wide (22-24 inches) and the upper deck and helm area can be accessed via a few steps. The upper deck is large enough for a dinghy crane and large dinghy to be stored securely.

SALON and GALLEY

Entering the salon from the aft deck you will find an inviting area full of natural light with a tasteful mix of white laminate and rich, varnished teak.  The sole is solid teak and holly and runs the full length of the boat.  The salon and galley area is quite large measuring 12 ft long by 14.5 ft wide.  A large teak dining table and L-shaped settee is located to port with a long settee to starboard with storage below.  The U-shaped galley is located to port and is very much a part of the salon area.  A large peninsula counter extends from the port side with overhead storage cabinet separating the galley area and providing a large counter space for meal preparation.  There is a large single stainless steel sink with large opening window above.  To the right and forward is a three (3) burner LP stove/oven with overhead microwave.  A Norcold refrigerator with freezer is located just inboard of the stove.

ACCOMODATIONS

The master stateroom is centrally located and accessed directly from the salon area down teak stairs between the galley and the stairway to the helm area.  Located low and central it provides a very comfortable sanctuary where movement is minimized.  The queen berth is athwartships with the headboard against the port hull.  There are built-in night stands to either side of the bed with storage closet and drawers forward of the berth.  Two opening ports provide natural light and ventilation. The engine room can be accessed from the master cabin by raising the hinged stairs aft.  There is also access to the battery selector switches and fuel manifold system located in a hanging locker on the aft bulkhead wall.  Across from the berth there is a large head and separate shower.  The head features a sliding teak door, quartz counter top, storage cabinets, tile floor and Vacu-Flush head.

Moving forward thru a short hallway you will enter a roomy guest cabin.  The guest cabin can also be directly accessed from the pilothouse down curved teak stairs on the starboard side of the helm.  The cabin also benefits from lots of natural light with opening ports and overhead hatch.  The V-berth is large with the starboard side having a length of 6'6" and the port side a bit longer at 6'9".  There is ample storage with built in night table, storage drawers, cabinet and hanging locker just aft of the berth on the port side.  To starboard there is a second head with separate shower.  The head features quartz counter top, storage cabinet, medicine cabinet with mirrored door, Vacu-Fluch head and tile floor.

PILOTHOUSE

The pilothouse can be accessed from the salon via a starboard side stairway and thru the forward cabin/hallway via a stairwell also on the starboard side.  Large sliding doors to port and starboard provide direct and access to the side decks.  The helm area is centered around a central helm chair with a commanding view through large windows.  A full complement of electronics are clearly visible to the captain.  There is a long bench seat behind the captain's chair offering additional seating in the pilothouse.
